Most injuries and accidents in the workplace can be prevented!

With our BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety course, you will learn how to protect yourself from permanent injuries and how best to protect your team.  This course will provide you with tools and processes to prevent accidents, but also how to handle them if they do occur.

This qualification is suitable for those seeking a specific health and safety-related position within the workplace, or wanting to move into a supervisory position which involves WHS instruction and monitoring.


12 face to face sessions – 1 x 4 hour class per week

Completing the WHS course will provide you with a strong foundation in hazard identification, risk assessment and implementing hazard controls in the workplace. You will get an in-depth understanding of how to manage emergency situations, respond to critical incidents and perform first aid. As this is a cert IV you will focus more in-depth on WHS policy in the workplace and ensure the processes in place are working and communicated to all staff effectively.

Who should take this WHS course?


Anyone can apply for the WHS Course.

Background in a related discipline is not required; the aim of the WHS Course is to enable you to learn everything you need to know at a foundation level, so you can keep you and your workplace safe. You could be a school leaver, student, worker, business owner, or simply looking to broaden your skill set.

You may be eligible for a Victorian government subsidised place (s) via the Skills First Program. If you are eligible, the government will contribute to the cost of training.

Basic Eligibility Criteria (other conditions may apply):
– Australian Citizen or hold permanent residence, and
– Have not completed a Certificate III or higher in any industry (unless under 20 as at the 1st January this year), and
– Have not enrolled in/completed more than 2 other funded courses this year, and
– Have not enrolled in 2 other Certificate III’s in your lifetime (regardless of if you completed the course)

Utilising funding for this course may affect your ability to access further government subsidised training

Not the official certificate, you need to do an official 5-day course with a Worksafe approved provider.

Your First Aid statement of attainment is issued within a week of completing the session, providing any fees have been paid in full.
